Intentional Inspirations Newsletter - 6/9/23
I love the above verse found in Psalm 62:7. It covers several things that I want to point out to you today.
You would have to be living under a rock to not see what is going on in our world — the unrest that is affecting the whole world, the rampant sin and evil that is going unchecked, the threats to our liberties, our health, and our ability to speak the Truth from the Bible freely. It can all seem so overwhelming at times.
But Jesus.
He has told us in His Word again and again to not fear. To put our trust in Him. But do we? Do we truly trust Jesus with everything? Do we live our lives with a “more of You, Jesus, and less of me” attitude?
It seems that this theme of TRUST came to the forefront for this newsletter. I know I needed these reminders and I pray that they encourage and challenge you as well.
Now, back to this verse.
God is my salvation - There is only ONE way to be saved and that is through Jesus Christ. I am not saved by works but by the precious blood of Jesus shed for me on the cross. I can put my full trust in the One who gave His life for me!
God is my glory - It is not I who live, but Christ who lives in me. He is the One who gets the glory, not me. All my works are as filthy rags. Any good that I do is because of Jesus in me — Jesus using me to bring Him glory.
God is my strength - This verse talks about how God is the rock of my strength. A rock is solid and unmoving. When I think about doing things in my own strength, my mind always goes to the many times that I failed, that I ran out of strength, or my strength got weak. But God is like a rock. When my life is built on this solid rock foundation, it is strong and can withstand anything.
God is my refuge - I love this part of the verse because it reminds me that even though I put my full trust in God, that I strive to give Him glory in everything, and I build on life on God, the solid rock, I will still have times where I need to seek refuge. Life is not easy and we are actually promised persecution when we follow Jesus. When those hard times come, I need to remember that God is my refuge, the One that I run to. I don’t run to other things that may temporarily satisfy - you know, the kinds of things the world runs to (food, alcohol, drugs, etc.) - I run to Jesus! He is lovingly waiting for me to come to Him and seek refuge in Him.
Can you say this today? Is God all of these things to you? Have you repented of your sin and placed your full trust in Jesus? If not, today is the day of salvation! If you want to chat, simply reply to this email or send me an email at: sheri@sherigraham.com.
These are hard days we are facing, but with Jesus we don’t have to be afraid!
I hope you enjoy the things I share below. Hugs and prayers to you today!
I encourage you to really read these words as you listen to this song. Such good words of encouragement and challenge for us today — helping us “stand” because we put our full trust in Jesus. - Sheri
I TRUST IN YOU
(Verse 1)
When the end of the day is not what it seemed
And things that are happening are not what I dreamed,
And the hopes that I had for what might have been
Have turned into tears once again;
My cross is heavy and this road unsure,
But, Jesus, You are mine; and I am Yours.
(Chorus)
Help me stand for You like I’ve never stood before;
Help me sing to You until I can’t sing anymore.
Lord, increase my faith that I may rest in Your Truth
So whatever comes my way,
My heart can truly say,
I trust in You.
(Verse 2)
Though the enemy comes to tear me apart
And finds ways to hurt what’s close to my heart;
I have found strength down on my knees,
Trusting by faith what I can’t see.
The battle’s raging, but the victory’s won;
Lord, take this heart of mine, Your will be done.
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
Lord, You’ve opened my eyes,
And now I can see
The beauty in this story
You’re writing for me!
(Final Chorus)
I will stand for You like I’ve never stood before;
I will sing to You until I can’t sing anymore,
Lord, increase my faith that I may rest in Your Truth
So whatever comes my way,
My heart can truly say,
I trust in You.

My family loves cornbread, especially since it is something that I can make gluten-free. But sometimes when I cook cornbread in a pan it dries out a bit and gets crumbly. So I decided to find another recipe to try. I found this one for Honey Cornbread Muffins and it was a keeper! These muffins were so good. I made them gluten-free by just replacing the flour with gluten-free flour and it worked great. I also replaced the sugar with coconut sugar, and the milk with cashew or almond milk. Now these muffins are my go-to when I need something on the side to fill up my family! Enjoy!

We have had so much fun watching the OU Sooners softball team this year. Grace (as well as the OU softball coach and many on the team) have been an inspiration to watch as they proclaim Christ Jesus as their Lord and King. Grace has allowed the Lord to use her where she was planted, leading Bible studies with girls on the team, and more. Click here to see another clip of Grace and a couple other players proclaiming their faith on national TV. May we all be so bold as to proclaim Jesus to a world that so desperately needs Him!
