Since I forgot to add this to my last newsletter, I decided to just make it a whole post of its own! [If you are not interested in this topic, then just disregard this post and read no further.]
The following is a post that I made recently in my Work from Home Band group. I know there are many out there who are searching for ways to bring in a little income from home, and I decided to create this Band group to share from my own experience and to walk others through the process of beginning to make an income online.
I was really excited to find Payhip, because it allows someone just starting out to sell digital or physical products online with no money up front and no monthly costs. Pair that with the PLR (Private Label Rights) products that I am creating that allows anyone to purchase one of my PLR products and resell it βas isβ or edit to make it your own β and you keep all the profits! But for now, I am only sharing about these PLR products in my Work from Home Band group. I currently have two PLR products available - a Prayer Journal and Household Planner!
Enjoy reading through the information below to learn all about Payhip, then join my Band group to get access to the PLR products to get you started!

SELL UNLIMITED PRODUCTS FOR FREE!
While I love Podia, I know that for those just starting out you can't afford to pay out a monthly expense. If you go with the free Podia account, you can only sell one product, which is very limiting especially when you are first starting and want to offer multiple digital products to get you going.
So I went in search of another option. That is when I found Payhip. I decided to take some time to research it well, open up an account myself, and test it all out before recommending it to you. I'm glad I did because I found out some information through support that they are going to be changing. I'll explain what I found out below.
WHAT IS PAYHIP?
Payhip is an e-commerce platform that enables anyone to sell digital products, courses, coaching, memberships or physical products directly to your fans and followers. You can embed Payhip directly into your website (if you have one) or you can use their storefront builder to create your own shop to sell your work. Payhip takes care of everything. Here is what you get with Payhip:
Store Builder - This makes it really easy to build your store and make it look like you want it to look. Select colors, fonts, images, format, etc. You will have your own store online where your products will be sold. You can share the URL to your store with your friends and family!
Sell Products - With Payhip you can sell digital products, courses, memberships, coaching, and physical products. Once you add your products to your store, Payhip takes care of the whole payment process and delivering the digital product. While you may only be interested with selling digital products/ebooks to start with, you can play around with the other types of products. Maybe you like crafting and selling some sort of physical product -- you can use Payhip for that too! But you will have to take care of shipping the product though. Maybe you want to sell a membership where you charge a monthly fee for people to have access to content you post in the membership. Maybe you want to create a course to sell that includes text, video, audio, etc. You can sell courses too. But I would encourage you to begin with just a digital product so you understand the process first, then branch out to other types of products if you want to.
Marketing Tools - Use their built-in marketing tools to promote your products online.
Payments - Payhip uses Paypal and Stripe to process payments when someone purchases from you. You will need to have an account with at least one of these. It is free to open a Paypal or Stripe account.
Blog - Payhip provides a blog feature where you can write blog posts and they will be shared in your shop. The only downside I found with this is that I didn't find any way for people to "subscribe" to the blog so when you post a new blog post it will notify them. It looks like you can simply write posts and publish them on the blog, then you can get the link to the individual blog posts and share that on social media. You can decide if you want to use this feature or not.
*Email Marketing* - This is the feature that I found out will be changing. Email marketing is another whole ball game on its own and Payhip has decided to discontinue this feature and just focus on the e-commerce service that they want to provide. I don't see this as an issue really. If you decide you want to email people who have purchased from you, you can download the list of customers and upload them into an email marketing service. Some email marketing services offer a free account with a cap on the number of subscribers. But that is for another post!
HOW MUCH DOES PAYHIP COST?
Here is the part I am really excited about! Payhip offers ALL FEATURES no matter what tier you are. The only difference between the tiers are the transaction fees. That means that there are NO COSTS until someone buys something from you, then depending on what tier account you have, Payhip takes out transaction fees from the purchase price. I'll explain the different tiers below:
ALL Accounts, including FREE Account =
- all features (store, blog, affiliates)
- unlimited products (sell digital products, courses, memberships, coaching, physical products)
- unlimited revenue
MONTHLY COST & TRANSACTION FEES
FREE Tier: No monthly fee; 5% Payhip transaction fee
PLUS Tier: $29/month; 2% Payhip transaction fee
PRO Tier: $99/month; No Payhip transaction fee
OTHER FEES
Paypal: Paypal fees are $0.49 per transaction + 3.49%
Stripe: Stripe fees are $0.30 per transaction + 2.9%
EXAMPLE OF SALE WITH A FREE ACCOUNT
For the Free Tier, a 5% transaction fee is taken out of transaction by Payhip + Paypal or Stripe fees.
Example using Paypal: On a $10 ebook, the fees taken out by Payhip and Paypal would be $1.34, so your profit would be $8.66.
Example using Stripe: On a $10 ebook, the fees taken out by Payhip and Stripe would be $1.09, so your profit using Stripe would be $8.91.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN SETTING UP A FREE PAYHIP ACCOUNT AND BEGINNING TO SELL A PRODUCT?
There really isn't too much that you have to do to get your free account open and your storefront set up. Here are the basic things you have to do:
1. Sign up for a free Payhip account
2. Customize your storefront so it looks the way you want it. If you don't have a business name you want to use, you can just use your name as your store name. Once you have the storefront done, publish it.
3. Select your method of payment - Decide whether to use Paypal and/or Stripe and get that connected in your Payhip account.
4. Add a product to your store.
5. Begin to share the link to your store and/or the product page and let everyone know what you have for sale.
WHAT DO I SELL?
I've already talked about this, but with Payhip you can pretty much sell anything! You are not even limited to digital products. But I would recommend you start with a digital product/ebook.
If you don't have a product of your own to sell and you want an easy way to get a couple things in your store, consider grabbing one of my PLR products [These PLR products are available through my Work from Home Band group β join here!]. I provide the PDF file, cover image, and images of every page that you can use as sample pages on your product page.
It won't take long to get your money back out of this investment. If you buy the PLR product for $10, then turn around and sell it for $7 in your store, it will only take selling a couple to make your money back plus some! Then every sale after that is all profit!

I am so excited to have found this alternative to Podia, which allows you to have an unlimited number of products -- all with no cost up front! This looks like an amazing way for a beginner to get started. Have fun!
