God's faithfulness, grace, and mercy through the ages!
A great family read-aloud, an excellent sermon, and a reminder of God's faithfulness.
Today I wanted to share a book that our family has loved reading together this time of year — Grandpa’s Box. It works great to read a chapter or two a day during the month of December. Each chapter focuses on one item out of Grandpa’s Box that tells a story of God’s redemption.
Many times we fail to see how God’s story of redemption has been weaved through the whole Bible — from Genesis to Revelation. This book is a great way to see God’s hand of grace through the ages. It has really helped my kids to see how it is all about Jesus and God’s plan of redemption — it always has been and always will be — from beginning to end.
I also wanted to share our pastor’s sermon from this past Sunday. For the next three weeks, he is going through each of the three sections of the Old Testament (Historical Books, Poetry Books, and Prophecy Books). He will be showing how God’s work of grace and mercy in all aspects of the historical accounts points to Jesus and what we can learn from that history.
You can listen to/download this sermon here, as well as download the sermon notes.
We had fun decorating our home for Christmas this weekend. This wood plaque that says “Great is Thy Faithfulness” seems to always stay in our decorations through the different seasons of the year. It reminds me that no matter what is going on around us, no matter how busy or hectic our lives are, no matter how evil and tyrannical our world becomes, no matter how easy or how hard our lives become, that God is always faithful!
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.Lamentations 3:22-23
Praying for each of you, that no matter what your lives hold right now, that you are finding Him always faithful. Put your trust in Him today.
