Intentional Inspirations Newsletter - 5/9/24
I’ve missed chatting with you the past couple weeks! We have had sickness in our home that has hung on way too long and I’ve been busy playing nurse to my kids. Thankfully, everyone seems to be on the mend finally! We are all so tired of being sick.
This newsletter is packed with tons of fun things! While our schedule has been so messed up with kids being sick, I have had to learn to enjoy the little things — like a fun crochet project, the roses blooming in our flowerbeds, or having the windows open and listening to the birds singing outside. God is so faithful!
We do still have some work to do to finish our homeschool year, but we’ll get there. Summer is knocking on the door, and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some slower days.
Hope each of you have a great week!
Take care. Don't fear. Trust God!
Blessings,
❤️Sheri

I love to crochet and have been enjoying sitting in the evenings working on this dish towel. I love the pattern. It’s easy and yet so pretty. I am thinking about changing it up a bit and making it shorter, then adding buttons on one end so I can attach it to my stove. I love having a kitchen towel to wipe and dry hands on the stove and I thought this towel would be so pretty. We’ll see if I decide to do that or not.
We have been dealing with sickness in our home for what seems like months now! Ugh. But I recently was searching for a recipe for an electrolyte drink and found this one on Mary’s Nest website. Definitely going to give this one a try!
I ran across this resource years ago in my early years of homeschooling and thought I would share it with you. Sue Patrick’s Workbox System is a way to set up your homeschool. Back in the day I implemented some of her ideas and thought they were helpful. Anyway, go check out her website, look at the sample pages, and see if this is something you want to look into for your homeschool.
This time of year I always enjoy starting to research curriculum ideas for the next homeschool year. I wanted to share about this company I ran across — Campfire Curriculum. It looks like so much fun! I’m not sure it is right for my kids right now, but someone may enjoy taking a look. I love these curriculums that incorporate all the subjects and include lots of hands on stuff. Anyway — go take a look and see if it’s something you want to consider for next homeschool year!
Another fun thing I like to do this time of year is to look for some new books to read to the kids — over the summer and also during the next school year. This Jed Cartwright series by Ed Dunlop is SO good! We have read books 1-6 and didn’t realize he had more out in this series. I will definitely be getting books 7-9 and we’ll probably read them this summer. Can’t wait!
Check out this amazing printable by Christine Field — Life Skills Checklists for Age 4-18! These lists would be great to add to your homeschool plans! Click below to download the PDF file!
One of the best things a homeschool mom can do is to take some time during the summer months to educate herself. To take a step back, think about what is important, re-evaluate what is and isn’t working, etc. This “Summer School For Mom” series by DIY Homeschooler looks so helpful! I can’t wait to work through the posts myself. Enjoy!
