📅 Banana Bread Recipe, New Digital Planner, Books to Encourage the Veteran Homeschool Mom, and Getting Into God's Word!
Intentional Inspirations Newsletter - 6/27/25
Another week has flown by! It’s been a good week here at our home. As you can see above, the flowers continue to grow and bloom and are prettier than ever right now. I spent some time to learn something new this week — see below to see what I created!
I can’t believe June is coming to a close soon. It seems like the days have been busy, but I’m not sure what we did. Can anyone else relate? I have enjoyed digging into some new books this week (see my new blog post below) and spending time crocheting. There’s just something to the slowing down a bit and treasuring the little things.
That’s why I made Banana Bread today (recipe below!). I’m having such a good time baking in the kitchen, making homemade yogurt, homemade sourdough bread, and hearty meals for my family. These summer days give me some extra time to do that — time that just isn’t there so much during the school year. So I take each day and try to make the most of it — and enjoy it with my kids!
Well, I need to wrap this up and get this posted. Enjoy scrolling through some of the fun things below. Hope you find something you can use. Praying each of you have a blessed week!
Take care. Don't fear. Trust God!
Blessings,
❤️Sheri
I had fun learning something new this week! I learned how to use Canva and PowerPoint to create hyperlinked planners! What inspired me was that I really wanted one for myself. I had a few that I had downloaded from online and a few that I had created, but it wasn’t quite what I was wanting. Now that I know how to create something just the way I want it, my mind is whirling with ideas :).
This planner is meant to be used to plan out a month at a time. It has monthly calendars you can use to fill in reminders, enough daily pages for 5 weeks, and then the feature that I wanted the most — 12 numbered tabs with 10 lined pages behind each one. This allows me to write notes on different topics, adding to and deleting information as time goes by.
This is what the daily pages look like. I wanted more space for a “to do” list and less space for timed appointments, so I adjusted this page to suite what I needed. I added 3 tick-box items at the top of the day that could be used for most important items to do, gratitude list, etc. The big box under the to do area can be used for whatever you want. Copy a verse for the day, write a reminder, etc.
The monthly calendars are ready for you to fill in the dates and any reminders.
This is what the lined pages look like behind each numbered tab.
The Home or Index page has links to all the different areas of the planner, making it easy to get around. The tabs are also linked to the different sections.
I am using this planner on my Kindle Scribe so it isn’t in color on that device. But if you have any other tablet that you can write on, this planner will be in color, which makes it kind of fun.
Because this planner is reusable, you can use it over and over again! If you want to check out more details, you can find it in my shop here for only $5!
I put up a new blog post on my website this week! Click on over to read about some great books to encourage the veteran homeschool mom! Brew you a cup of coffee or tea and settle in with some great books!
Today was Banana Bread baking day! I had 7 ripe bananas that needed a home. So I thought I would share the Banana Bread recipe our family loves. I use gluten-free flour and they turn out great. One thing to note is that when I used these small loaf pans, they bake faster than the recipe calls for. These only took about 25-30 minutes. But I find that when I use gluten-free flour, that the banana bread bakes better in the small loaves.
I LOVE these pans too! I make a double batch of this recipe and it fills two pans, plus another small loaf pan. The small loaves freeze well and make it easy to get one out for a snack when we need it. Here is the recipe - enjoy!
Banana Bread
Makes one big loaf.
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3-4 bananas, mashed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 Tablespoons milk
Stir together the dry ingredients in a bowl. In another bowl mash up the bananas, then add the remaining ingredients and blend until combined. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and blend until just combined. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes OR until a toothpick comes out clean (less cooking time if using smaller pans). Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a cooling rack.
This week I added one more book to the Library at The Reading Nest: Among the Farmyard People. Go check it out!
When you subscribe to The Reading Nest, you will get the Anne of Green Gables Reading & Activity Guide for FREE! So if you are looking for great books to read to your child, subscribe today!
A friend of mine online shared this week that she was reading through the Bible and following along with these videos. She said she was really enjoying journaling and studying God’s Word. I haven’t dug too deep into this, but from what I have seen it looks pretty good. Here is their Youtube channel and you can also check out their website here.
I wanted to share again my personal experience using God’s Story for my daily Bible reading. I have the free Kindle version on my Kindle Scribe and I absolutely LOVE it! I am reading longer and reading more than I ever have, and I think it is because my eyes don’t get caught up in all the verse numbers and formatting. God’s Story is only marked by book and chapter, so you feel like you are reading a story — God’s Story! See below for details on how you can purchase softcover versions and Kindle versions, OR simply download the free digital versions to print or load on your devices. I can’t encourage you enough to get into God’s Word this year!
Click here to go to the book series page on Amazon! You will see links to each of the softcover volumes, as well as the link to the Kindle version of the complete book.
Click here to grab God's Story as a free EPUB or PDF file! I am so excited to see so many of you downloading the free version! I pray it is blessing you and encouraging you to be in the Word daily!
Happy reading!
