We are living in a time when it is really easy to allow fear to consume us, aren’t we? I don’t have to list off the reasons that we may be prone to fear in these days — I’m sure you could rattle off a long list like I could! But you know what? If you have confessed your sin and accepted Jesus as your savior, then you have nothing to fear!
We serve a God who is bigger than all our fears. He is the one true God who holds it all in His hands. God has promised that He will be with us, that He will strengthen us, that He will help us, and that He would never leave us or forsake us. Isn’t that amazing?
So while we are tempted to allow fear to take over, we need to be daily (sometimes minute by minute) reminding ourselves of these promises. God has a work for us to do yet until Jesus returns for the Church. We have husbands who need our attention and care, we have children who need to be discipled and trained, we have friends and people we know who need to know Jesus. Are you paralyzed in fear or have you turned to Jesus for strength to be going about doing His will?
My daily prayer is that the Lord would help me to keep my eyes on Jesus, that I would not get bogged down with the weight of the troubles in this world, and that I would be filled with joy that can only come from Him as I go about doing what He has called me to do.
We started our homeschool this week, just doing a few subjects. Next week we will get more into a full schedule. I set up our homeschool schedule in Workflowy, so I’ll probably try to do a post on that soon so you can see how I did it.
The days are starting to turn cooler (I was so ready after a summer of 100+ weather) and I am really enjoying opening the windows and letting the cool breeze blow in.
Before I close, a quick update on my husband. He passed a HUGE stone this week and has been feeling a lot better. We are praying that if there are any other stones in there that he would be able to pass them. If he does, then he will be able to avoid having the surgical procedure. That is what we are praying for. Thanks to all of you that have messaged or emailed telling me you are praying. We definitely feel the prayers!
