Intentional Inspirations Newsletter - 8/12/22

In our weekly Bible study group, we have been studying through a book that deals with idols of the heart. Oh how tempting it is to turn to our “idols” when times get rough or the stresses overwhelm us, instead of turning to Jesus. I love Psalm 121 because it is such a good reminder that Jesus is the only one who can bring true help and hope!

The picture above was taken by my daughter when she was on a youth missions trip last week to McNeal, Arizona. She said the sunsets were beautiful there. My son and daughter that went on the trip had such a good time.

They spent about 5 days helping at Ethnos360 Aviation, a ministry that trains missionary pilots. They were gone for 9 days and this mama was so happy to have them back home. But it was such a good experience for them.

My youngest son was able to go fishing with his grandpa while his siblings were gone. He was so excited to catch this big catfish! They had a lot of fun making memories together.

Well, I better scoot for now and get this posted. I pray that each of you are finding your hope in Jesus. I don’t know how anyone can handle what is going in our world without having Jesus to turn to. Do you have your hope in Jesus? If not, please reach out to me. I’d love to chat!

A friend of mine recently got me interested in giving sourdough baking a try again. She recommended this free guide from HomeGrownEducation.org to get me started. So the past week I have been reading through that guide, watching Youtube videos, and following Instagram accounts to learn all about doing high hydration, long fermented sourdough. I’m almost ready to buy the supplies I need and get started. I have tried sourdough before and did not have very good success. I think part of the reason was that I wasn’t using the right kind of flour, and did not know enough about the starter and what shape it needs to be in to make a good sourdough bread. Anyway, I’ll try to post updates on that project later!

I don’t know if any of you watch The Highwire, but I always appreciate how all the news and information shared is backed up with the source links that are shared in their newsletter the week after the show airs.
