Wow! What a day it has been. Today we saw the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Now it will be up to the states to decide if they will allow abortions or not. I never thought I would see this day in my lifetime. But at the same time, the battle has just begun as we now have to turn our focus to the state level. I pray for those that are so outraged about this decision. Abortion is a terrible thing that is an outright rejection of God and God-given life. The hatred I have seen displayed seems outright evil and demonic. We are for sure in a spiritual battle. As I reflected today on this decision, this verse in 2 Chronicles came to my mind. I pray that people will be compelled to humble themselves before God, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways. Then I pray that God would extend His grace and mercy to forgive our sin and heal our land.
It has been a busy week for me as I have been working on a project for my mom. When Covid hit a couple years ago, my mom decided to hang a quilt out on the porch for the mailman and neighbors to enjoy. It was during the lockdown and everyone was so down in the dumps, that she decided it may cheer some people up. So she hung the quilt out, took a picture of it, and then typed up a FB post telling all about the quilt. Then she started telling family stories related to keepsakes she has and posting pictures of those things as well. My mom enjoyed it so much that she ended up hanging out quilts and sharing her stories for 65 days in a row! I am now taking all those pictures and her posts and turning them into a book. Here is a sample of one of the page spreads (my oldest daughter doodled the spool, thread and needle).
My goal is to get it done this summer so my mom can order some softcover books and possibly sell them on Amazon. I know I want a copy to keep as a family heirloom and she has a lot of quilting friends online that would love a copy! Fun!
Well, I need to close. It is getting late in the day and I need to get going. Have fun browsing the fun links below. Hope you find something useful to you.
